Mr. Okamoto, the visionary founder of Samal Eternal Garden, had a deep passion for creating a place where the memories of loved ones could be cherished and honored for eternity. Born and raised in Japan, he was inspired by the serene and peaceful nature of traditional Japanese gardens.

Japanese Pet Cemetery

Samal Eternal Garden is the first International Family and Pet Island Garden Cemetery in Samal-Davao Philippines. We were founded by the Japanese and Filipino communities in 2014. We were originally only a Japanese pet cemetery. Later on, Due to the interest of the community, we became a resting place for both Japanese, Pilipino and Americans.

The grand opening ceremony of Samal Eternal Garden (SEG) was a momentous occasion, attended by Co Founder & CEO Mr. Kazunari Komura, Director Mr. Junichi Takatsu and Deli Capuyan, The event marked a significant milestone in the journey of SEG, bringing together visionaries, community leaders, and supporters who shared a common passion for creating a tranquil and meaningful resting place for loved ones.

150 years ago, Japan initiated a significant project under the Meiji Government, promoting cremation as a means of environmental hygiene and social responsibility. This initiative led to nearly 100% of Japanese citizens choosing cremation as their preferred method of final disposition.

Inspired by the principles embraced by the Meiji Government, Samal Eternal Garden (SEG) proudly stands as the first cemetery in the Philippines to adopt these values. We believe it is our duty to support the younger generation by advocating for cremation. Through this process, the remains return to the earth, contributing to the cycle of life even after death. This approach ensures that our loved ones can find everlasting peace.

Our garden not only welcomes families to come together but also extends its embrace to our beloved pets. Now, both humans and pets can find solace in our eternal resting place, creating a lasting bond within our extended family.
